The Porsche Taycan stands out from the rest of the automaker’s lineup available at Porsche Delaware for a couple reasons. Chief among those reasons are its electric platform and its array of incredible technology that is unlike almost anything found almost anywhere else in the automotive industry. When the new equipment for the 2021 Taycan goes on display when the high-performance EV arrives at our showroom, people could easily become overwhelmed with what this platform can offer. Our team of product experts thought it would be wise to provide smaller and more digestible updates as they become available. Let’s take a look at a few things you might find interesting.

What is Function on Demand?
Life comes at you fast, as the kids say. Needs change. Circumstances change. Porsche understands this and the automaker has implemented the Function on Demand system that will allow drivers to download and change the software their 2021 Taycan uses as they need it or no longer need it. The Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (PIRM) is already available with Function on Demand, but Active Lane Keep Assist and Porsche InnoDrive are being added. Customers will be able to purchase these systems or subscribe to them by the month – whatever works best for their lifestyle.
Updated Charging Functionality
As an electric vehicle, the most important thing an owner of a 2021 Porsche Taycan will need to do is charge its powerful battery. The updated Plug & Charge system will allow for easier charging and device authentication via the industry-standard protocol. This feature will become more useful as Electrify America charging points are more prevalent at the beginning of the 2021 calendar year. Also, the vehicle’s battery preservation system will be easier to use through the central display installed in all 2021 Porsche Taycan models coming to the Porsche Delaware showroom.
We expect the 2021 Porsche Taycan to arrive at the Porsche Delaware showroom early next year. If this platform has piqued your interest, make an appointment to speak with one of our product experts today.
