Chop it down or pick it out, it’s time to get your Christmas tree!

December is almost upon us, which means it’s time to go find your Christmas tree! Whether you prefer to cut your tree down or find one in a pre-cut lot, there are plenty of affordable and amazing Christmas tree farms in Delaware.
Coleman’s Christmas Tree FarmÂ
550 Silver Run Road, Middletown, DEÂ
With a large selection of Douglas fir trees, hand-made wreaths and swags, and a fresh Bake Shoppe open on the weekends, this is a great place to find your tree.  Also, on the weekends, you can take pictures with Santa Clause and have a free hayride to the tree fields! They only accept cash or check and baling is $4 per tree.
McCarthy Tree FarmÂ
1061 Dutch Neck Road, Middletown, DEÂ
Open on Sundays and Saturdays, you can either cut down your own or pick a beautiful White Pine, Douglas Fir or Canaan Fir tree. They will also bale your tree for free! You can also enjoy hot apple cider by the campfire with Christmas music to get you in the spirit or visit the blacksmith shop and gift shop for handmade gifts.
Cardinal Woods FarmsÂ
2480 Blackiston Road (Rt. 42), Clayton, DEÂ
A part of Delaware since 1895, this farm features gorgeous, tall trees with a variety of Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, Colorado Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce and White Pine. Open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until Christmas, you can come by with your family to choose a lovely tree to cut down or one from the freshly pre-cut lot.

A family farm that goes all out for Christmas-time, you’ll find more than you were searching for in the tree fields and gift shop. Besides finding your perfect tree, they have Santa visits on the weekends, scenic hayrides, a petting zoo, a café with homemade treats, a large slide, a fun play area and sometimes there’s even face painting!
Don’s Tree FarmÂ
6396 Hickman Road, Greenwood, DEÂ
Now celebrating their 10th year in business, you can visit the pre-cut lot Thursday evenings or go out into the fields on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. There are also train displays, hand-made holiday decorations and Santa will be there on Saturdays! You can bring donations for their mitten tree to help local charities too! They accept cash only.
Schmidt’s Christmas Tree FarmÂ
1741 Flint Hill Road, Landenberg, PAÂ
With open hours every day of the week, you’ll have plenty of time to stop by and find the right Christmas tree for your home. And if you find the baby black bear stuffed animal on the weekends, you can take the tree and bear home for free! They also provide tractor rides to and from the fields, hand-saws, and shaking and baling of trees.
